It is an incredible honor to serve as the Superintendent of Letcher County Public Schools. As someone who believes deeply in the strength, resilience, and pride of our community, I am excited to work alongside our dedicated educators, supportive families, and outstanding students as we continue building a bright future for every child.
Letcher County has a long tradition of caring for its students and striving for excellence. I am committed to honoring that tradition while focusing on opportunities that will help our district grow and succeed.
One of our top priorities is increasing student achievement in mathematics. Strong math skills open doors to college, careers, and lifelong success. We will support our teachers with high-quality instructional resources, provide meaningful learning opportunities for students, and use data to ensure every child receives the support and challenge they need to reach their full potential.
We are also committed to growing enrollment throughout our district. Letcher County Public Schools offers exceptional educational opportunities, caring educators, and a supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We want every family to see our schools as the very best choice for their children's education, and we will continue showcasing the outstanding programs and opportunities available in every school.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. One of my goals is to complete our district police force by ensuring every school campus has a dedicated School Resource Officer. Having a trained law enforcement professional in each building strengthens school safety, builds positive relationships with students, and provides an added layer of security and peace of mind for our families and employees.
While these priorities are important, our greatest strength will always be our people. Success happens when schools, families, and the community work together with a shared purpose. I believe in open communication, collaboration, and treating every student with dignity, respect, and high expectations.
