The Letcher County Schools will be closed for Tuesday, December 3, 2024. This will be N T I Day number two. Students will complete their lessons from home today.
Parents of Kindergarten, 6th, and 11th grade students, please make sure your child’s required immunization record has been updated as required by 702 KAR 1:160. If your child has completed their required immunizations, please send the completed and updated documents to your child’s school. If not, schedule an appointment as soon as you can with your child’s healthcare provider. Our school district depends on these records to be sure your child is immunized to protect the health and wellbeing of all the children in the classroom. Thank you for your cooperation and support. The Letcher County Schools will be closed on Monday, September 30. We still have many families without power and roads covered in debris from the storms. We want to thank all those working to get the electricity restored and roads cleared.

Hello, Class of 2028… We would like to remind you that Link Crew freshmen orientation activities take place tomorrow from 8:00-2:00 pm. We have lots of fun games and activities planned for you tomorrow morning, and you’ll meet your peer mentors. We will serve a catered lunch and then we will distribute schedules and lockers and give you an opportunity to tour the building. We are excited to meet you and have you join our Cougar Family.

This is a reminder that you are scheduled for senior orientation on Monday, July 29th, or Tuesday, July 30th. You do not have to attend both days. You can pick up your schedule, get a locker, and take senior pictures if you signed up for a time. We will have another senior picture day once school starts if you did not have an opportunity to sign up for a time slot. We look forward to seeing you very soon.
The Letcher County Central High School JROTC will be hosting the Louisville drone racing team on the top of the high school hill where the track is located from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Friday, July 19th. There will be demonstrations and hands on training. Everyone is welcome to come by and participate.
PRI is hosting pottery classes tomorrow, Thursday, June 18th in the art room at Letcher Couty Central High School from 10:00 -12:00 and from 1:00-3:00. This is open to students and families. Lunch will be provided for the 10:00-12:00 class. In addition, there will be a Mindfulness Walk at Lilly Cornett Woods from 9:00-12:00. Lunch will be provided.
PRI is hosting pickleball and volleyball games tomorrow morning , June 14h at the LCCHS Tennis Courts from 9 am-12 pm. Food will be provided to everyone in attendance. In addition, there will be a spooky hike on the Pine Mountain Overlook Loop tomorrow evening beginning at 7:00 pm. There will be spooky tales (not so spooky tales for smaller children), lantern-making, and free books for all kids!
